Melanie Clore, Sotheby’s European chairman and co-chairman of Impressionist & Modern art, is leaving at the end of February after 35 years at the auction house.

Works by Picasso, Matisse and Graham Sutherland all form part of an extraordinary collection built up by a former binman and school caretaker, Michael Woodford, who died last year aged 76.
