Sotheby's credit her with being "instrumental in the most successful auction ever to have taken place in London - the Impressionist, Modern & Surrealist Art Evening Sale in February 2015, which achieved £186.4 million".
Clore told the Telegraph: "I decided in November that it was the perfect time to hand over the baton and move on to the next stage in my career."
Clore joined Sotheby's in 1981 as a graduate trainee. She has led the Impressionist & Modern Art Department since 1990, collecting many accolades along the way, including that of being the first female auctioneer to take an Evening Sale of Impressionist & Modern Art.
In January 2011 she became chairman of Sotheby's Europe alongside Henry Wyndham. She was appointed as a trustee of the Tate Gallery by Prime Minister Tony Blair in 2004.
