MADAM – Your article ‘A great connoisseur of art‘ (News, ATG No 2479) recording the death of the impressive American dealer/collector Richard Feigen, and the obituary in the same edition (right), while rightly lauding the range of his connoisseurship from early Italian art through to Contemporary artists, didn’t mention his passion, and exceptional eye, for British artists such as Richard Wilson, JMW Turner, David Wilkie, RP Bonington and Samuel Palmer.

The US art dealer Richard L Feigen has died at the age of 90. A notice in the New York Times stated he ‘died peacefully in his sleep after a brief illness with Covid-19 pneumonia’.

During her time of over 20 years with LAPADA, Annie was more often the ’go to’ for most association enquiries. Hers was the voice of helpfulness and friendliness and it was quite a distinctive voice, gained largely over many years of enjoyably puffing on cigarettes. Ultimately it was smoking which contributed to the cancer she suffered in her latter years.
