National Portrait Gallery

The public gallery in London dedicated to portraits. It opened in 1896 and houses thousands of paintings depicting many of the most famous people in British history.

The gallery houses a few self portraits of artist including ones of Hogarth and Sir Joshua Reynolds. The National Portrait Gallery also hosts the annual BP Portrait Prize.
