Freeman's

Freeman’s was founded as a family run business in 1805 and refers to itself as the oldest auction house in the US.

Freeman’s headquarters are in Philadelphia and they hold about 30 auctions in areas such as fine art, jewellery, furniture, antiques and books.

The firm has a marketing alliance with Lyon & Turnbull of the UK.

Carl Moll (1861-1945) was one of the founding members of the Vienna Secession movement. On February 23 in its sale of European Art and Old Masters, Freeman’s of Philadelphia will offer a painting by him that has been in the same family since it was acquired in Germany in the early 1920s.
