According to the engraved plaque, this Russian silver cycling trophy, offered by Antiqon (25% buyer’s premium) in Riga, Latvia, on May 18, was presented by Grand Duke Sergei Mikhailovich to the best cyclist in northern Russia and champion of the Tour of St Michaels.

Jack London (1905-66) became the first black British athlete to win an Olympic medal when he was awarded bronze in the 4x4 100 metres relay and a silver in the 100 metres sprint in the 1928 Games in Amsterdam.
