Walter Sickert

Walter Sickert (1860-1942) was born in Munich, Germany but moved with his family to Britain in 1868. He became a prominent member of the Camden Town Group.

Walter Sickert (1860-1942) first met Cicely Hey at a public lecture in 1923. The very next day Hey arrived at his studio in Fitzroy Street and continued to sit for Sickert over the next decade.

THE Fan Museum in Greenwich, the world’s only museum entirely dedicated to the history of fans and the craft of fan-making, have acquired an important fan painted around 1889 by Walter Richard Sickert (1860-1942).
