US museum buys desk by celebrated cabinetmaker

A bonheur-du-jour secrétaire by celebrated cabinetmaker Roger Vandercruse Lacroix (1728-99) has been purchased by a museum in Kansas from French dealer Galerie Léage for a six-figure sum.

Taddy’s clowns perform well

One of the rarest of all British cigarette card sets sold for £8800 at Loddon Auctions on February 11. The Clowns and Circus Artistes series depicting a range of circus performers and the logo Taddy’s Clown Cigarettes is known through only half a dozen complete sets.
