Hickman gave up dealing around 30 years ago when he moved to Normandy to work as an artist.

Self taught in needlework, his creations fit into the gallery’s concentration on primitive and folk art, and the look of the pictures are reminiscent of naïve British pictures of previous centuries.

The show, which runs from December 6-16, is part of a Contemporary Collaborations initiative Young runs at his Battersea gallery, and the second to feature Hickman.

Since the first exhibition, the artist has also been awarded the BBC Scotland Home of the Year award for his current place in the Outer Hebrides.

Prices in the show range from £700-5800.
