All the better then for a visit also to Adams Antiques Fairs’ event nearby at the Royal Horticultural Halls in Victoria which runs on January 28.
Fairs coordinator Elena Ochagavia says: “Our December fair was the busiest we have had all year. The hall was really buzzing throughout the day with a great crowd and lots of international visitors so we’re really looking forward to our January fair which we hope will also see lots of buyers.”
Decoratives dealer Oli Barling, who trades as Boula, has had good sales since he started standing at the ‘Horti’ fair last October.
He says: “It’s a great place to take smaller decorative antiques and I’ve sold a good amount of ceramics including Spanish lebrillos - large earthenware bowls - spongeware and slipware, plus ironwork, treen and folk art. I even managed to squeeze a few bits of early oak furniture onto the tables which sold to the London trade.
“The attendees here are a mix of trade, regular private buyers and tourists.”
Summing up what fairs are all about, Barling adds: “It’s a super-friendly fair and a fun day out.”
