A corner of one of the cattle pens at Skipton Auction Mart filled with vintage pieces at one of Yorkshire Fleamarkets’ events.
“It’s been a winner”, said Bowman, with the events attracting a regular tally of 1500 visitors at Skipton and 1200 at Thirsk.
The fleamarkets run six times a year with 80 traders at each event setting our their stock in cattle pens with the front gates taken off to make a clearly defined space for each trader.
Bowman added: “We’re planning for even larger events in October with bookings for Skipton on October 22 and Thirsk on October 28 strong, with an excellent range of traders selling items from the 18th and 19th centuries.
“Skipton attracts buyers from all over but we target Leeds, the Calder Valley, east Lancashire, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. Thirsk is close to the A19 and A1 and the 11am to 6pm format means that travelling in one day is easier for traders.”
