The Walled Garden Brocante will be held on the Raynham Estate at Raynham Hall near Fakenham on Sunday, August 6.

Organiser Kate Button said: “We are expecting 50 exhibitors but this could rise to 60-plus as quite a lot of people are leaving it fairly late before booking events this year.”

Standholders include Belinda and Tom Kilduff of Bay Tree Interiors selling vintage rustic pieces including tables, pots and baskets.

Raynham Hall is the seat of the Marquesses Townshend with interiors designed by William Kent in 1723 and although the house is not generally open to the public it does occasionally offer open days in aid of the restoration fund – and Tuesday, August 15, is one date.

Blackdog Events had planned a winter event in the walled garden but Button advises that this has had to be cancelled “as the estate management have had a change of heart and now feel that damage could be caused to the garden by vehicles at that time of year”.

Instead the Blackdog team plans a winter location that is somewhat different to its usual country house events: running a ‘Runway Flea’ at a former Second World War airfield in Suffolk on Sunday, October 1.

This is at the Debach Airfield, near Woodbridge, one of the last heavy bomber stations occupied by the American Eighth Air Force. n
