Goddard’s former role was in social care and children’s centres and he now works on building maintenance at Home Farm in Thrandeston in Suffolk, owned by Jen and Paul Read.
“Due to my former background Jen and Paul asked if I would be interested in setting up a social enterprise”, he says.
“After much discussion and the discovery of an abundance of tools at the farm, the Tool Shed Project was launched there. This is a place for people to meet and learn new skills, primarily for men and the fostering of good mental health, but all genders are welcome.”
Goddard adds: “I sell at the Easton fair the tools that were traditionally used on farms such as scythes, hay forks and baling knives, with some being more unusual having been formed by blacksmiths for specific jobs, with all profits going into the project.”

The Norwich fair’s venue is Easton College’s sports and conference centre. The next, with up to 70 dealers, is on Sunday, August 27.
Fairs take place on the last Sunday of the month. Goddard will be standing at the September event (he can be contacted on 07884 342155).
