The 16in (40cm) wide oak and iron-bound cellaret, above, is painted HMY Britannia RYS built by D & W Henderson Ltd, 1893, Glasgow, Buried at sea off the Isle of Wight on the night of July 8th 1936.
Built for Edward VII, the yacht was inherited by George V who instructed that she be scuttled after his death. Pitched at £100-150, the cellaret sold at £400.
The contrasting aluminium ice bucket, below, was stamped to the base with an airship and Zeppelin – presumably a survivor of the luxurious and successful passenger airships Graf Zeppelin I and II which flew the world before being taken out of service after the 1937 Hindenburg disaster and scrapped for war material in 1940.
