Fairground art collector Rutterford, who started work at Tesco in Ely aged 16, leaving the firm 22 years later as head of partner communications, said just before Christmas: “The new showroom has been a game changer, so we are now recruiting for two colleagues to join my team in January 2017.

“November saw the busiest month since the shop launched, selling a huge amount of railwayana, enamel signage and fairground horses.

“We have another new client on our books in Pinewood Studios, to join Elstree, Warner Brothers and The London Bridge experience. Our client list is growing, yet keeping the gear in stock is now becoming a challenge.”

Rutterford added: “My website has just passed 100,000 views in the first year, but Instagram and the showroom are my two strongest areas in terms of purchases.’’
