The sale will be conducted at the premises of Acreman Street Antiques & Interiors in Sherborne by Pitchers & Associates Auctioneers of Somerset. All lots in the sale have been consigned by local vendors.

Gill Norman, who owns the centre, hopes that visitors “will be surprised and delighted at the range of wonderful items on offer in the centre and at our inaugural and future auctions”.

Among the pieces included at tomorrow’s sale are a vintage push-along terrier toy, an Edwardian miniature steam engine, a silver art nouveau tazza and an 18ct gold bloodstone and cornelian fob seal. All pieces are offered without estimates.

Acreman Antiques opened in 2015 and Norman says that it has been her intention to hold an auction since it opened. Though permission to host the auction was gained shortly after the centre was opened, she wanted to wait until it was more established.

"We are being offered items for sale every day but we can't buy everything. Being able to offer the service of selling these items on a vendor's behalf seems to be the ideal scenario," she tells ATG. "We also hope that the auction will raise the profile of the antiques centre.

It hosts 45 different traders over two floors in the centre.
