“Charles Dickens aside, it’s hard to think of an author with a legacy generating quite so many successes from independent stories and characters as Roald Dahl,” said owner Pom Harrington.
The BFG is released in the UK on July 22, nine days after the 100th anniversary of Dahl’s birth.
Dahl opposed the translation of his books to screen, openly expressing disappointment with the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. Still, many of Dahl’s books have found their way to the screen since the author’s death in 1990.
It may be the perfect time to revisit the original text in a Dahl first edition.
