1 How did you get your start?

The son of avid collectors, I studied fine art after school and after worked at Sotheby’s in Bond Street before embarking on a career in digital media.

I have always surrounded myself with beautiful or practical things imbued with history, be it collecting for pleasure to furnishing the various houses we have restored over the years. I can’t ignore a bargain.

It’s now become an excuse to keep collecting and working with people who suffer from the same passion.

2 What challenges are facing the trade in the coming months?

Maintaining standards and integrity and responding to how the next generation engages with and embraces the business. It is truly exciting.

3 What is one great discovery you’ve made?

So many, how do I choose one? Every day in this business brings the opportunity to throw up a ‘great’ thing. If forced to pick one, when I was an art student I ‘rescued’ a print by Frank Auerbach from a skip in south London. It was a good day.

4 What is one thing you couldn’t do without?

I-phone 11 pro max. Or my dogs. Don’t make me pick one.

5 Who do you admire in the art and antiques world?

Edward Godrich of Godrich Interiors, the designer and artist.

We’ve known each other since we were children and he has always been an inspiration with his taste and style and a sounding board for what I’m doing. No one I know is more honest or throws a better party.
