A set of six Britains Super Detail Modern British Paratroopers, including four examples known by collectors as ‘The Holy Grail’, stars among the toys at Lacy Scott & Knight on August 12 in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

The quartet was produced in limited numbers in 1978, but never generally released to the market. It is estimated that fewer than 1000 were made.

The group comes in an original all-card box display case and is guided at £400-500.

This French Perille fly-nut corkscrew is priced at £125 from Manfred Schotten Antiques in Burford, Oxfordshire.

The design for this mechanical bottle opener was patented in 1876. Marked J Perille, Depose, Paris, J.P, it dates to c.1920 and is plated over steel.


English furniture specialist WR Harvey in Witney, Oxfordshire, is selling this mid-19th century treen pocket roulette wheel.

Made of sycamore, it dates to c.1860 and is priced at £300.


A small selection of 19th century paper peepshows is included in Thomson Roddick’s August 10 sale in Edinburgh.

The 12-lot group includes this 19th century French military example illustrating Napoleon at the Battle of Eylau in 1807. Eylau was an inconclusive and bloody battle fought against the Russians in east Prussia.

The 6½ x 8½in (16 x 22cm) peepshow has six hand-coloured accordion scenes depicting the battle and comes in an original box cover. It is estimated at £300-500.
