Three weeks or so before the fair opened, a North Country dealer at the Tetbury, Gloucestershire antiques centre Top Banana Antiques Mall got £3500 for a Bullock-style pollard oak window seat from a West Country dealer stocking up for Olympia.
At the fair the West Country dealer sold the seat to another exhibitor for £11,000 and it then sold out of the fair for £22,000. If only the final buyer had been in Tetbury just a month earlier.
Three steps to healthy profit
NEWS sometimes takes a little time to filter out but I can confirm that at least three dealers made a profit out of last month’s Fine Art and Antiques Fair at Olympia.
