1 How did you get your start?

Over 20 years ago with a small stand at The Antiques Emporium, my sister’s business in Tetbury – which quickly led to building Lorfords Antiques which I co-founded.

2 What is your focus?

Predominantly 18th and 19th century original painted Swedish, French and English furniture. I just love the simplicity and clean lines of Gustavian furniture; inspired by the neoclassical French style.

3 What is one great discovery you’ve made?

I remember once finding a beautiful tapestry cartoon lying on the ground at Le Mans Deballage (a French brocante). Literally being walked on! I rescued it, cleaned it up, framed it and sold it at The Decorative Fair (as Lorfords). It is something I wish I had kept.

4 How do you display your collection in your home?

Antique pots and white ceramics everywhere. A wonderful Swedish Rococo corner cupboard in original paint. Wall art including collages by Huw Griffiths, 19th century nature printed ferns by Henry Bradbury, 17th century Commelin botanical engravings and a Besler sunflowers illustration c.1640.

5 Real ale or espresso martini?

Espresso martini.
