The Treasure House Fair: Need to know

June 27-July 2, preview on the 27th

Royal Hospital Chelsea.

The second iteration of London’s new summer fair.

The event was whipped together last year following the cancellation of Masterpiece and won fans among dealers eager for a high-quality event in the warmer months.

What’s new for this year?

The fair is around 30% bigger with 70 galleries participating. Numbers are unlikely to rise much from now on due to the size of the venue, although this year the stand space has also gone up by around 20% and now measures roughly 3000 sq m.

Helen Allen, executive director of The Winter Fair in New York, has come on board as development director and will work to boost the fair’s international profile.

In the same vein, the fair has made a deal with Momart to use Temporary Admissions customs procedure to import and export their items for the fair at a special rate.

Finally, there are several special exhibitions this year. Robert Procop Exceptional Jewels stages The Great 100-carat Gems, Willoughby Gerrish returns with a Sculpture Walk featuring works by 20th and 21st century British women artists, and three classic cars from the London Concours (the Savile Row ‘automotive summer garden party’) are to be displayed near the entrance of the fair.
