Cloisonné vase by Namikawa Yasuyuki sold for £9500 at Rowley’s.
He worked in a number of different styles over the course of his long career and this 4¼in (11cm) example decorated with a landscape featuring a shoreline view of houses against a blue ground is one of his later pieces dating from the early 20th century.

The vase was marked for Yasuyuki on the base, as shown in the detail here. Against a £2000-3000 guide it sold for £9500 at Rowley’s Fine Art (22.5% buyer’s premium) in Ely, Cambridgeshire, on January 13.
