Of the 22 galleries in the Masters section are Robilant + Voena, Les Enluminures and Dr Jörn Günther Rare Books.

Peter Harrington offers Daihannyaharamittakyo (‘Great Sutra of the Perfection of Wisdom’), a 600-volume collection of 16 different sutras, for £35,000.

Peter Harrington, a newcomer to the fair, is among those with major eastern highlights, exhibiting rare books tracking the evolution of manuscript and print culture from its origins in east Asia.

Its highlights include the oldest item ever offered by the London gallery: a volume from an early Japanese manuscript on Mahayana Buddhism.

It also offers two early sutras that record the role which Korean monks played in the spread of Buddhism across east Asia.
