It features pieces such as this drop-leaf desk with its seat and visitor’s stool by French designer and architect Jacques Adnet (1900-84). It features an X-shaped base in bamboo-imitation brass. The covering and top of the tray are covered with imitation leather. The set is available from newcomer Unforget, a Belgian gallery, for £40,000.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of the fair. It brings together 62 international galleries, with 13 first-time exhibitors. Fresh faces include JCRD Design, Giulia de Jonckhere and Elie Top.
Many of the offerings are Contemporary, but of the standout 20th century pieces are a desk by André Sornay that transforms into a games table, offered by Marcelpoil, and a bar cabinet attributed to Otto Shulz on the stand of Modernity.
