It is 150 years since the inauguration of the Martin Brothers pottery and a century since the death of modeller Robert Wallace Martin.
Curated by Woolley & Wallis specialist Michael Jeffery, the show at the Castle Gate rooms will feature around 170 exhibits, including a total of 34 of the famous Wally birds.
All of the pieces have been loaned from collections within the UK. Some have not been seen since the seminal Richard Dennis exhibition held at Sotheby’s Belgravia in 1978.
The illustrated catalogue includes an introduction by Malcolm Haslem.
Cotswolds auction house Kinghams held a similar exhibition of approximately 100 pieces in March.
