A Magician Among the Spirits by Harry Houdini sold for $15,000 (£12,095) by Potter & Potter.
This was a first edition of the famous illusionist’s researches into fraudulent elements associated with Spiritualism published by Harper and Brothers in 1924.
The particular attraction of this volume is a signed and initialled inscription by Houdini to fellow illusionist Howard Thurston reading To / Howard Thurston / Best wishes / Houdini / June 20/1924 and The result of 30 years research is embraced twixt the covers of this book which I believe will be my monument! H.
