The 12 elements, lavishly lacquered in several shades of gold with embellishments of inlaid shell, depict landscapes from the Uji region of southern Kyoto.
They were sold as a lot at auction in November 1928 at the Tokyo Bijutsu Kurabu (Tokyo Art Club) when they were listed as the property of the Chouso and Ogawa families.
The estimate this month is £25,000-30,000.
