Horsup, who has been a dealer for more than 40 years, has graced the pages of glossy magazine Tatler. She says: “I often loan jewellery for magazine shoots but had never been to one – let alone taken part.”

So when Hannah Teare, acting fashion director at Tatler, asked Horsup if she would like to be part of a shoot at the Dorchester Hotel she jumped at the chance.

Horsup added: “I was delighted! I loved it! I got to sit with the most gorgeous young man (who sadly is not in the photo) and had my hair and make up done. And I loved the jacket I was dressed in.” The photoshoot called A night at the gallery is in the April edition of the magazine.

Among Gillian Horsup's current stock is this vintage 1940s gold tone and turquoise glass stone brooch with an asking price of £95.

She is part of a group of dealers called Vintage Modes who sell at Alfies Antiques in Marylebone (When Grays Antiques at the Mews closed in 2017 Horsup moved to Alfies with her colleagues.) Over her career she has sold at markets and fairs including Covent Garden, Camden Passage and Alexandra Palace.
