Water Wheel at Onden is one of the 36 views of Mount Fuji series of woodblock prints by Hokusai (1760-1849).
During the Edo period, Onden was a quiet farm village near the Shibuya River, seen in the print beyond the mill. Today, the area is known as Harajuku, the bustling hotspot for fashion-forward young people.
Th exhibition takes place at The Mark Hotel on 77th Street from March 16-19.
