“Last year we went full-on for a deballage-style brocante in the park overlooking the lake where traders could turn up, unpack and sell with their vehicles in situ”, says Susan Williams, co-organiser with rugs dealer Malcolm Cannell of the Bayfield Brocante which runs next on Sunday, June 18.

“We had 60 traders who loved the space and the environment and tallied over 500 cars with around 1000 people in attendance.

“We don’t charge entrance, only parking, with income shared with two local charities.”

The event is held in the grounds of Grade II-listed Bayfield Hall (pictured above) at Holt in north Norfolk where dealers from Bayfield Hall Antiques on the estate will be joined by others.

Cannell adds: “I love the goodhearted banter of dealers gathered together in what is otherwise a solitary pressured and working life.”
