Run by Grandma’s Attic Fairs, it now takes place in the Fleming Leisure Centre in Eastleigh, eight miles away.

The first, held on January 1, was “one of the most successful fairs we have ever run”, said Grandma’s Attic Fairs’ co-organiser Chris Brown. “More than 100 people were queuing for early/trade entry to the venue where we had ended up with 125 stallholders running 222 tables. By close of play 1500 people had come through the door and stallholders on the whole were exceptionally happy.”

Brown puts the success of this event down to a £2500 advertising spend and a really good location within a 30-minute drive of Southampton, Portsmouth and Salisbury plus the large brand new sports centre venue itself.

This fair will run again on two bank holiday Mondays, April 10 and August 28, and on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2024, which falls on a Monday.

Grandma’s Attic Fairs’ next event is at the Westgate Leisure Centre in Chichester on Sunday, January 15.
