Eric A Bird Jewellers traded latterly from St Mary’s Street in the historic Cornhill Quarter and the firm’s owners, Stephen and Maria Thompson, who own the premises, are retiring.
Stephen said: “It’s been wonderful to have been such an important part of Lincoln’s community for such an extended period and the regeneration of the Cornhill Quarter has been brilliant.”
Thompson cited some of his favourite moments in running the business as seeing generations of local Lincoln families using the shop’s services.
