One of only 4540 minted, this rare type in a near mint state was recently discovered in an old collection of coins in the UK, where it has been for nearly 200 years.
Estimated at £45,000-65,000, it sold for £140,000 at St James’s Auctions (20% buyer’s premium), on January 26.
