And in his case with an add-on of an appointment-only showroom.

But there is maybe a trend to move away from this more isolated and sole way of doing business and moving on the high street (see our story in ATG No 2577 about dealer Alan Hinett who has opened a shop in Alcester to complement his online business nearby).

It certainly is the story with Crosthwaite’s business, Cloverleaf Home Interiors, as he has taken space at the Wymondham Antiques Centre in Wymondham, north Norfolk, close to his home.

Business growth

“So far it’s proving a good move. It was the right time to do this as the market towns of Wymondham and nearby Attleborough are growing at a rapid rate with 10,000-plus new homes so there’s a big influx of people to the area.”

Crosthwaite is also a fairs organiser and he added: “It’s a great place to advertise my fair at Easton which is so busy we are having to turn dealers away because we are so full.”

The next monthly Easton Antiques Fair at the Sports & Conference Centre in Norwich is on Sunday, February 26.
