This Aesthetic Movement register grate and walnut fire surround features 10 interior panels to the register grate, four of which depict 17th century Dutch painters: Wouter Crabeth (1594-1644), Leonaert Bramer (1596-1667), Rembrandt (1606-69) and Gerrit Dou (1613-75)
The walnut surround was probably manufactured by Gillows of Lancaster, which produced the other furnishings from the property in Windermere from where this fireplace was removed.
