Two months ago AS Fairs’ new three-day Decorative Home and Salvage Show was held at Cirencester Park on the Bathurst Estate.
In our ATG review (No 2600) we reported on strong sales for the 75 traders and some celebrities among the 3000 visitors, including actor Richard E Grant, an enthusiastic buyer of antiques who said the show was “the perfect place to snuffle out gubbins.”
More “gubbins-snuffling” might come with a visit to the newly opened The Old Kennels on the estate.
Originally built in the 1840s by the 4th Earl Bathurst to house his foxhounds, the independent businesses now hosted here in Grade II-listed premises include Lily Antiques, aka Louise and Steve Pike, collectors turned dealers who sell antique and vintage furniture and a large range of antique ceramic pots.
The Pikes said: “We opened Lily Antiques two years ago in Tetbury and have now moved into a new showroom at The Old Kennels which is perfect for showcasing our antiques. The footfall has been very good with existing clients from Tetbury following us and many new clients as well.
“We’re known for our rustic-style antique ceramics and have a wide range of large and small pieces some dating to the mid-1700s primarily from mid-Puglia in southern Italy but also Spain and France.”
