The firm, a member of the Bolaffi Auction Group, held its inaugural coins sale at the Westbury Mayfair Hotel in 2020 and returns for a follow-up event at the Royal Over-Seas League, St James’s, on September 26.
This Napoleon III (1852-70) gold medal struck for the Exposition Nationale de Nantes in 1861. Designed by medallist Hamel Kouen, it features the head of empress Eugénie and the city arms within a baroque frame.
