Patsy Styles launched the business in 1974 and was joined by her husband Derek three years later. Their son George followed in 2001, and he now runs the business. Though initially selling general antique and collectable silver, the firm now has a definite focus on works by Post War and contemporary designer silversmiths.

Derek Styles co-authored British Designer Silver with John Andrew, the standard work on the topic published in 2014. George Styles has since expanded the business and now arranges commission work, presentation pieces and trophies.

He was made a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths in 2012.
