Also for sale is Fourteen poems by CP Cavafy chosen and illustrated with twelve etchings by David Hockney (b.1937), translated by Nikos Stangos and Stephen Spender, Editions Alecto, 1966.
The etchings are on hand-made Crisbrook Waterleaf paper by Barcham Green, each with publisher’s neat ink stamp to verso Edition B, and numbered 362-373, signed by the artist to colophon at rear and and numbered 340/500. Guide £4000-6000.
