Among them are an 18th century Fijian ‘Sali’ war club (estimate £700-900); a 19th century Australian Aboriginal western desert shield ‘Wunda’ stone carved (£1200-1500); a mid-19th century Australian Aboriginal club, New South Wales, Murray River Region (£2500-3500), an early 19th century Oceanic Fijian carved snake war club (£500-600); a mid-18th century western Polynesian Tongan Ironwood war club (£4000-6000), a 19th century Fijian club (£2500-3500); a 19th century Aboriginal west Australian paddle (£500-800).

Ethnographic art has long been an important element of Finch & Co’s ‘wunderkammer’ approach to antiques dealing, mixing tribal objects with European sculpture, antiquities and latterly Modern British pictures.

The business that Jan started at Portobello Market in the 1980s continues to trade under husband Craig from Cromwell Place, South Kensington.
