Director Helen Yourston said: “Detling September is pretty good with 250 bookings inside and outside at this stage. Exhibitors are leaving it much later to book events recently as they move from one fair to another.
“Certainly the fuel crisis and cost of living is having an effect, although few government or public people understand that the micro-businesses that dealers have still need to earn a living and this is how they do it, by standing at fairs.”
Youston added: “Our 8.30am Saturday early entry trade gate numbers at Detling have swelled very nicely this year, not only with UK buyers but from the Far East and some from Italy - although it does alter from fair to fair - with many exhibitors finding good sales because of this.”
