It is one of the starring textiles at an exhibition titled Court Art of the Islamic and Indian World being held by Oliver Forge and Brendan Lynch at their Pall Mall, London, gallery until October 28.

The panel was made in Persia, 1600-25. Measuring 5ft 5in x 12in (1.65m x 31cm), it was sold with three others, all smaller, by Spink & Son in the 1980s, at which point they were said to have been found in Tibet. Since then it has been in a private collection. It is offered for £750,000.

Also on offer at the show, which coincides with Islamic Week, are examples of Indian metalwork, Safavid pottery and a group of Indian paintings and drawings.
