Still Life in Spain by Mary Fedden – £15,500 at Reeman Dansie.
The 20in x 2ft (51 x 61cm) oil on canvas, titled Still Life in Spain and signed and dated 1984, had a verso label for Anthony Hepworth Fine Art and had been purchased from Neptune Fine Art by the private vendor.
It was secured towards the lower end of the £15,000-20,000 estimate by a private buyer on August 9 at the Colchester saleroom.
On its last auction outing the painting had failed to find a buyer in the same rooms in November 2021 against a £20,000-30,000 estimate.
