An exceptionally large ebonised ripple frame which sold for $5500 (£4910) to a buyer in Georgia, US.
Wilner has been a specialist in period framing for nearly 40 years and has completed more than 15,000 framing projects for collectors and museums.
His collection has been consigned to Florida auction house Helmuth Stone (22/25% buyer’s premium) and comprises 2500 original antique examples which Wilner used to make his replica frames.
The first tranche was offered on October 2.

Helmuth Stone’s Brandon Stone said: “So far there has been a great show of interest with the sell-through rate of the auction at 90%-plus with buyers from all over the country as well as internationally.”
The next tranche will be offered on December 4 and a third is planned for the end of January 2023.
