The first monthly fleamarket held post-lockdown at the Carmarthen Showground in Wales since a change of organiser tempted 2000 visitors to throng the venue on a sunlit Sunday.

The pre-2019 market format was kept for April 24 and prices held to encourage exhibitors and buyers, but the organiser – now the United Counties Society which is the owner of the venue – reported such worries were unnecessary.

Lyn Davies, the society’s chairman, said: “We were very pleased to welcome Flea For All to the showground and to see so many people come along.

“Stallholders I spoke to had a very good trading day and we hope this will continue as we promote further markets throughout the year.”

The next market at the south Wales site is on Sunday, June 19, with, the society hopes, as many traders as there were in April – ie 150.
