The niche National Vintage Fishing Tackle Fair held in the Worcestershire town of Redditch, the spiritual home of British fishing tackle manufacture, has its spring outing on Sunday, May 15, at the Abbey Sports Stadium.
This is fully booked with a mix of private collectors and dealers “including about six newcomers”, said angler and dealer John Andrews who has organised this fair for 14 years.
As well as reels, rods, flies and fish hooks, expect ephemera and books.

The Domesday Book of English Fish Taxidermists, priced £125.
Paul Morgan of Coch-Y-Bonddhu Books in Machynlleth, Wales, is offering The Domesday Book of English Fish Taxidermists by taxidermist and historian Barry Williams, priced at £125 hardback and published during lockdown.
Illustrated with more than 950 photographs, it includes the stories of the East End taxidermists who preserved the catches of London’s angling associations plus profiles of 19th and 20th century anglers and the work of famous and less-well known taxidermists, some of whom had “often surprising personal lives”, says the book’s blurb.
