So it surprises me that there are still auction houses which do not offer such a service. The point being that when they do not, in my experience the cost is disproportionate – let alone the additional hassle.
Jewellery delivery
I buy jewellery and with in-house shipping services the cost is typically between £12 and £24, for purchases between a hundred and several thousand pounds.
External shipping services are disproportionate in my opinion – a recent purchase of earrings for £36 cost £45 to ship; a purchase of a ring for £260 cost £86 to ship.
Come on you lagging auction houses, join the post-pandemic world and offer sensible in-house shipping services!
