Both works were purchased directly from the artist by a collector based in Ohio and are currently from the collection of a Massachusetts estate.

One, picturing a dancing figure of the Hindu elephant-headed god Ganesha measures 20 x 14in (51 x 35.5cm) and is signed Husain lower left. The other, a more monochromatic depiction of a horse in the moonlight, is larger at 2ft 9in x 2ft (84 x 16cm) and is also signed Husain.

Both works come with a certificate of authenticity from the artist’s son Shafat Husain stating the paintings were purchased directly from Husain and each has an estimate of $8000-12,000.
