He began auctioneering in the early 1960s and started the firm based in Colwyn Bay with his wife Margaret in 1992.
Remarkably, the final valuation appointment he conducted was in Caernarfon on December 5, only hours before he was taken to hospital for what, it transpired, would be for end-of-life treatment for cancer.
Rogers Jones now operates from salerooms in both Colwyn Bay and Cardiff, and also has an office in Carmarthen. The firm will continue to be owned and run by the Rogers Jones family.
